Backbone

A site-specific light installation for a secret venue in Barcelona: 15 metres of four sound-reactive lines. There was no other lighting in the room, so we hung that horizontal column floating in the middle of the space like a spine.

It was our first intervention in a space using light, back in 2014, and both the result and the audience's reaction hit us hard enough that we changed the way we work: more real-time content, tighter synchronisation with sound, and human input as a way of making the work expressive.
