An interactive installation that produces a rain of soap bubbles filled with dry-ice vapour, driven in real time from TouchDesigner.
This is one of those projects that arrives as a genuine challenge, both for its complexity and for the time available. In three weeks we had to devise something close to an air conditioning system, except that it needed to run at around −60 to −70 °C in order to inject the white smoke of dry ice inside the bubbles.
We also built fifteen machines we affectionately called «pomperos», which load the glycerine and form the bubbles in sync, opening and closing the valves that release the dry-ice vapour. Light bars hidden among the foliage catch the highlights on the bubbles as they fall.
